1. Built-in Web Server:
The built-in Web Server enables all the computers in the corporate network to directly & simultaneously access the device using any Internet Browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer & Netscape Navigator. Different computer platforms such as Apple MACs, Microsoft Windows & Linux machines can access the device. No additional software is required.
Whether you are at home, in an airport lounge or a hotel room, with iGuard's wide-area access capabilities, you can see which employees are signed-in at the office, which are not, and even manage employee access rights remotely via your Internet connection.
2. Contactless Smart Card:
With this feature, your workforce are afforded rapid access to iGuard managed access points. Using Philips Mifare Contactless Smart Cards, each user can have his / her own user information (including the name, company & branch code, and fingerprint information) stored on a personal card. By simply presenting this card to the face of the iGuard reader, their identity can be verified. This feature is specially useful during high-traffic periods such as during the beginning and the end of the work shift.
3. Secure Access:
Network integrity and security are ensured via SSL network encryption (optional).
4. Built-in Database Server:
The built-in Database Server maintains the personnel Access Logs and simplifies obtaining the employee information for access & attendance records, thus cutting the processing time for jobs like payroll calculation from days to minutes.
All the information is real-time information, instead of week-old or day-old data. In contrast, other systems must use dedicated computers running special proprietary software to retrieve the information, and usually dedicated persons are required to perform the jobs. 5. Patented Technologies:
As a company dedicated to originality, Lucky Technology Ltd. has obtained a US patent in 2003 (US patent number 6,643,779). Their pursuit of innovation and efficient manufacturing has made it possible for you to have reliable, robust, leading-edge technology for security and time keeping.
1. Multiple verification methods:
With iGuard, users can be authenticated and verified through either Fingerprint, Smart Card or Password processes. To accommodate work day high traffic periods (lunch time, shift change, etc.), System Administrators can configure the iGuard readers so that users simply present their Smart Card for rapid identification. Likewise, additional higher-security fingerprint verification can be required for period such as after normal office hours or during weekends and holidays.
2. Access Rights:
The System Administrator can easily and conveniently assign different access rights to individual employees. Using this flexibility, you can plan and administer your security program more effectively and maximize utilization of human resources. With the built-in Web Server technology, iGuard empowers you to manage the access rights of each individual employee or a group of employees easily at anytime, from anywhere using any web-enabled computer at your disposal. For example, the Administrator can allow staff members of the marketing department have access to office premises during weekdays from nine to five only, or can specify only four employees to have access to the computer operations center, with two specified for 1st Shift Only and two others for 2nd Shift Only.
3. Reports:
iGuard includes three built-in reports: Access Log, Attendance Report and the Daily In/Out report. Each can be accessed via any web-enabled computer with web browser. Should more sophisticated reports be required (e.g. - for payroll inputs), the information can be downloaded and saved in Microsoft Excel format and delimited, plain text format for further processing.
In addition, the access records can be saved to any PC in the network in ODBC database format in a real-time manner. Other applications can then conveniently obtain the information from the ODBC source (the required interface software, iServer.exe, is available free-of-charge on Lucky Technology's download page at www.lucky-tech.com ).
4. Economical:
iGuard readers are truly plug-and-play. All the necessary operational hardware and software are built-in and delivered complete with each device, including the RJ-45 connector for integration with the corporate local and wide area networks. No other hardware and wiring is necessary. In contrast, many other security systems require separate RS232 & RS485 wiring systems and dedicated PCs to serve as the administration consoles (and do not leverage the corporate network).
5. Small Footprint:
iGuard is a wall-mounted unit, elegantly designed with an extremely small footprint. In fact, it is the smallest stand-alone biometrics device available in the market today. It can be mounted easily and conveniently at the access point and does not detract from the architectural aesthetics of the office environment.
6. User-Friendliness
iGuard is an Internet-Ready Security System and is the first and the only security product in the market that uses TCP/IP as the protocol to communicate with other iGuard units and the outside world. This protocol enables the device to directly connect to the corporate network via the existing LAN cabling. Since TCP/IP protocol is the Internet protocol, it allows all computers in the corporate network to access the devices using common Internet Browser software familiar to System Administrators and Security Managers. As a result, system managers do not need to learn to use a new software to access and administer the devices. Most users master the system devices and administration software in minutes. In contrast, other security systems use proprietary protocol, wiring and even proprietary software is required to access these systems.
For compatibility purposes, iGuard also supports other conventional interfaces, including Wiegands, RS-485 & RS-232.
1. Server/Client configuration:
Multiple iGuard units can be setup in a Server/Client network. In this configuration, one iGuard is assigned as the Server and all other units are configured as Clients (or Clients). When a user enrolls in any one of these iGuard units, his / her user information, including the fingerprint template information, is replicated in all other iGuard units in the same Server/Client network, thereby eliminating the need for the user to enroll multiple times in order to have the access rights to multiple access points.
2. Remote Door Relay:
To increase access security even further, the remote door relay is used to control the door strike from inside of the premises. With this optional controller, the iGuard sends a special "Open" signal to the relay to open the door (rather than directly opening the door strike from the reader itself). The relay interprets the signal and when deemed accurate, sends the "Open" signal to the door strike. Since this optional controller is installed inside the premises, intruders cannot gain access to the premises, even if they damage or destroy the iGuard reader itself. We recommend that the remote door relay be used with each iGuard reader.
