iGuard™ Super Master Server
iGuard™ Super Master Server
iGuard™ Super Master is a back-end database server used to expand the
storage capability of networked iGuard™ readers when more than 1000 users
are enrolled. To accommodate a large number of users, the Super Master becomes the Master
Device of the LAN and all LM520 Readers are configured as Clients. In this
configuration, the slaved iGuard readers operate in cache mode, storing the most recently
used 1,000 users in memory. During authentication, if the user cannot be found
in the slave iGuard's cache, the slave iGuard will request transfer of the
user's information from the Super Master via the network. The information for this user will then be stored in the slave iGuard, replacing the oldest
user information set recorded. NOTE: users with auto-match privileges enabled
will always be stored in the cache memory.
Super Master servers offer storage capacity options of 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 users. Super Master uses the same patented iGuard™ embedded Web Server technologies that enables all computers (such as Apple MACs, PCs, UNIX & Linux machines) in the corporate computer network to access, setup and maintain security information across the iGuard LAN using Internet Browser software in the same way as with the iGuard LM520 Series readers.
